July 4, 2009 Shippensburg Speedway Results (Dedicated to Sapphire Arndt)

What a holiday, and what a way to start off a night after being off for over a month. The Team started off by Shawn winning his first ever 600cc micro sprint heat race. It was the first heat of the evening, and Shawn ran a very good clean heat race.
When Shawn got back to the pit, he was very excited and made a comment that this is how fun is supposed to be. He had to pull a pill for the inversion for the feature race.
Shawn pulled pill 12 to start 12th in the 25 lap feature event. He was pretty bummed out with this news. Unfortunatley, the evening got worse.
Shawn ended up starting the 25 lap feature 10th. On the drop off the green flag, two cars got together in front of Shawn, causing one car to flip wildly, and caught up a number of other cars. Shawn got a left rear flat tire. the Team was able to change the tire on the backstretch during the red flag.
Shawn was able to restart the feature, but started in the rear of the field. He started the feature 16th, as five cars were not able to start. He ended up finishing 12th for the event.
As many of you know, Shawn wears his heart on his sleeve, but surprisingly, he was still very excited when the Team packed up to head home. The team will be working on getting the car ready for the next race, which as many of you know with the schedule this year, it could be next week, or next month.
Shawn would like to send a huge “Thank You” out to the man that turns the wrenches on the car, Crew Chief Duane. Shawn would also like to send a “Thank You” out to everyone that has prayed for him and supported him throughout these past couple of months. Without your support and sponsorship, Shawn and the Team would not be able to race. Thanks again!
The Team would like to send Happy 4th of July wishes out to everyone, as we hope you all had a safe and happy holiday.

Shawn would like to dedicate his first ever 600cc micro sprint Heat Race Win to his Daughter, Sapphire Arndt. He sends a huge hug and kiss to you, and he can not wait to see you very soon!

With that being said, this is Matt saying as always, See you at a track in the very near future! So long!
