Nashville recording artist, Jason Mitchell, has teamed up with Sabko Inc., Racing for the 2009 and 2010 racing seasons. Jason is a born native of Nashville, TN. He is currently touring many different venues in West Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. The Team is very excited that Jason has teamed up with them. As they welcome Jason on board a lot of “Behind the Scenes” ideas are being worked on to bring some added entertainment to the races and you the race fans. The Team is happy that they made their return to Path Valley Speedway Park on Friday evening. Shawn finished 5th in his heat race to qualify for the 20 lap “Main” feature.
During warmups the car was a little loose, but they were hoping as track conditions changed the car would get much better. During the Heat race, the right rear shock was very soft which caused the car to “Pogo Stick” through the turns.
While waiting for the “Main” feature, Duane went to town making some adjustments, as Shawn and Duane said the car was “junk” in the heat race.
Shawn made it into the feature and spun out around lap 14 or 15, having to re-start at the rear of the field. Shawn had a great car in the feature and made it back to finish 8th.
Congratulations to Shawn, Duane, and Xzander for their first top ten finish of the season. We all hope that there will plenty more to come!
The Team is planning on returning to Path Valley Speedway Park on Friday, April 3. This of course is if Mother Nature will work her magic as rain is in the forecast at this time. The Team has decided not to race on Saturday at Trail-way Speedway. The weather isn’t looking to favorable, and the Team is looking to have a good race for once to really kick off the season. The Team has decided to head to Shawn’s favorite track in Spring Run, PA. Yes, you guessed it, the return to Path Valley Speedway Park! Everyone on the team is looking forward to getting back to the 1/4 mile “Bullring” in the Western Mountains of Pennsylvania.
As you recall, they had some pretty good races at Path Valley last season in the Legends car and also in the 600cc Sprints.
We will post results sometime on Saturday from Friday evenings race. It is expected to be a very nice spring day tomorrow with temperatures in the low 60’s, and the track should be in great shape as always.
Shawn would like to thank everyone for their help this week in making some changes on the car. Take care, and check in Saturday afternoon as we get the results posted!

What started out as a cold day, only got worse for the 12a Team this week at Trail-way Speedway. After making some changes in the car thorugh the week, Shawn didn’t feel that the car was quite as comfortable as last week. The car didn’t seem like it wanted to sit right going into the turn during warm-ups.
Duane made a few adjustments before the heat race, and after again. Shawn, being new to racing the open wheel cars got pinched off pretty bad going into turn three. He started third and ended up ninth.
Duane again made some adjustments on the car to get ready for the Consi. Shawn took the 12a out onto the track and the car started shutting off. He did not start the Consi, and therefore did not qualify for the feature event.
Upon returning to the pits, they found two ignition switch issues and are now in the process of re-wirng the entire car this week.
The Sabko, Inc., Racing Team is looking forward to returning to Trail-way Speedway this coming Saturday morning to run the first Pro Series event of the season. Gates open at 9:30AM and warm-ups start at 12:30PM.
Good luck to the team, as this event will undoubtably draw a large number of cars. This week there was atotal of 49 600cc spints in the pits, with a total of 103 cars all together. We wish Shawn, Duane, and Xzander the best of luck!

Upon arrival at the track the Team finished getting the car ready and patiently waited for warm-ups. In warm-ups, Shawn said the car ran awesome, and the Crew said it looked awesome. When Shawn got the 12a back to the pits, he noticed oil was all over on the left side of the car. The Team looked for a crack or a broken line and found that it was all overspray.

Shawn started 3rd in the first heat. On the start the pole setter did not go for whatever reason and the entire inside line was passed by the outside starting row. Shawn finished ninth in the heat out of eleven cars. When Shawn got back to the pits, he was extremely frustrated to say it nicely. This meant to qualify, Shawn had to go into the Consilation.

Shawn started fifth in the Consy and finished sixth. He did not qualify for the main feature. The Team is however very excited for the weeks to come, as this was only the third time Shawn raced this car, and the first time since October of 2008. The team made changes throughout the day, and are making some slight adjustments this week to prepare for this weekends racing.

The 12a will again be at Trail-way Speedway on Saturday, March 21. Racing action starts at 1:00 PM. We are all hoping this weekend leads Shawn to his first feature start at Trail-way Speedway in his 600cc career. Thank you for visiting, and see you at the races!

On Saturday, March 14, the Team will be traveling to Trail-way Speedway for the 2009 season opener. The 12a will be the only car in action for the time being while the 12x is being prepared for Xzander.

The Team worked into the evening hours on Thursday to get not only the 12a ready, but also the trailer. All of the tools and equipment have been loaded and ready to go.

After what we hope will be an exciting an enjoyable day at Trail-way Speedway, the Team will then be heading to Lincoln Speedway as spectators to relax and enjoy their friends in racing action.

On Sunday, March 8, 2009 you can see the 12a car driven by Shawn, at the Emigsville Fire Hall in Emigsville, PA from 12 noon until approximatley 2:30 PM. Both Shawn and Xzander will be available for any questions or to just check out one of the cars.
This appreance will be for sponsor Robin Greer, who is a Longaberger Basket distributer, during her Basket Bingo being held at the hall.

The Team is hoping that possibly Sunday, March 15, will be the first race at Shippensburg Speedway located in Shippensburg, PA.
