June Updates

Well, a lot has happened with the owners of Sabko, Inc. Racing this past month of June. Some good, some not so good. As most of you know, the Team has a new crew chief, Jason R. and two additional drivers in two additional classes. We welcome Jase Randolph and Caden Cowles. Jase races the number 15 Junior Sprint, and Caden races the number 9 Restricted Sprint.

The month was filled with Caden getting some top five finishes and Jase as well, as Shawn is still struggling. On the 26th of June it was definetly “Full Moon” racing at its worst. Shawn was involved in a flip at Port City and Caden was involved in a crash ending their nights early. Jase was the only one to finish a race that evening, although with a bent front axle.

All three drivers will be taking the 4th of July weekend off to prepare their cars and equipment for Saturday, July 10. The 12a car needs a lot of repairs, the 9 is already fixed, and the 15 is in the process of a new engine.

We are also proud to annouce that Nashville Recording Artist, Jason Mitchell, has rejoined the team, and is currently in the process of making a new CD for the team to sell at the area race tracks. They are also working on getting Jason to perform in the Tulsa and Oklahoma City areas in the next few weeks. The Team is currently making final preperations for the Mini Sprint Nationals being held the end of July at I-44 Speedway.

Stay tuned to the site as we will be posting additional updates as to more news and when CD’s will be available. Jason Mitchell has his version of the National Anthem played this past Saturday evening at Port City Speedway.

March 2010 Notes

As most of you are aware, Shawn is currently on his way to Oklahoma for the start of the 2010 racing season. I was told today that the weather isn’t looking good for Saturday racing in Oklahoma.
The Team is looking very forward to a new start this season. Shawn sold the Team but was asked to stay driving the 12a in many different venues this season.
Watch for many unique tracks to be listed here that Shawn has never raced at before.
Also, the team is currently looking for Pit Crew / Set Up help for the 2010 racing season. If you would be interested, click the “Contact Us” link at the top of the page.

February Updates

As much as the team is excited about new ownership and getting back on the track, Mother Nature has not been very friendly to all of the drivers, crews, and fans. The teams first outdoor race, which was scheduled for Kennedale, Texas was “snowed” out.

As more information as to the next scheduled race is made available to me, I will be sure to get it posted here for you. I can tell you that the team has been working on cars, and trying to arrange a descent racing schedule.

We are all anxious to see how the new tracks will be this year that have been discussed for visiting by the team. We are hoping to have the next race date scheduled by March 10, 2010.

Thanks for visiting, and keep your fingers crossed that Mother Nature will soon start to cooperate.

Tulsa Shoot Out Results

Well, after some very trying moments, and all but 48 hours later, the Team arrived at the Quick Trip Center for the Shoot Out. Wednesday was all sign ins and registration.
Thursday action saw Shawn in the #121 start in the 12th heat race and finished 7th.
Friday, no racing for the #121, but the Team returned again to meet and greet, and watch the Kart and Quad racing.
Saturday action had Shawn start 8th in “E” Main 2. Due to running a spec tire due to the ASCS2 regulations, it took the right rear tire about a lap and a half to build heat and stick to the track. Shawn finished 10th. The car set up was on track, and the Team was excited to be involved in such a prestigious race.
Great weekend, and Shawn enjoyed driving the #121 SOONER Waterproofing & Restoration car.

SOONER Waterproofing & Restoration Comes On Board

Sabko, Inc. Racing is happy to announce that SOONER Waterproofing & Restoration has joined the Team. Owner, Paul, was a help in this past weeks events. Paul’s company performs projects Caulking, Power Washing, Staining, Sealing, Waterproofing, Leak Repair, Restoration, Coating, and Fireproofing.

November 7 Race Results - Susquehanna Speedway Park

As you all know, Shawn started 16th in the rained out 20 lap feature at SSP. Upon arriving at the track, Duane made some final adjustments to the car before warm ups. Shawn went out for warm ups and came in and was very pleased with how the car handeled, and was ready for the feature.
As scheduled and as per qualifying last week, Shawn started 16th. He had good feelings about this race, and he finished in 8th. Shawn just wanted to end the 2009 racing season with a top ten finish and did it.
The car was great, and the Team was very happy at the end of the day.
Shawn would like to thank Todd and Rhonda Fisher for having them there to race. Shawn would also like to thank Duane for all the hard work and dedication this season, and all the hours traveling on the highways. He would also like to thank LaDonna Coleman for joining the Team mid season and taking over as the Public Relations Director for the Team. He would also like to thank all of the sponsors for their support and dedication through the trying season. Thank you also goes out to me, Matt, for trying to keep this site updated with the information relayed to me.
I have to admit, at first, I had my doubts, but I know where Shawns’ heart is, and how hard he works to make everyone happy.
The Team has raced at many tracks over this past 2009 racing season. From as far away as Oklahoma, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. They had their work cut out for them, as many of the tracks were a weekend of racing, and off to the next track. They raced at Susquehanna Speedway Park, Trailway Speedway, Path Valley Speedway Park, Shippensburg Speedway, Port City Raceway, Middleford Speedway, and Airport Speedway. I think I got them all.
Again, Thank you to everyone for their support, sponsorship, and hard work and dedication during the 2009 racing season. I have had a fun time dealing with the Team and their professionalism. As I am made aware of any updates over the next few weeks, I will be sure to post them here for everyone to read. Shawn, Thanks for having me on board. It has been a pleasure getting to know who you are and, well, you are not what most people think.
Well, the racing season is all but wrapped up, so, I guess I must say, see you all soon and keep in touch.

November 7, 2009 Racing Plans

The decision has been made to stay in Pennsylvania this weekend and compete in the feature that we qualified for this past Saturday that ended up being rained out. We will be racing at Susquehanna Speedway Park. Warm ups are scheduled to start at 12:30 with racing starting at 1:00. The Micro Sprint feature will be first, and will be a 20 lap event.
Shawn is scheduled to start in the 16th spot at the drop off the green flag. This track is by far the biggest track the Micro Sprints race on in this area. Should be interesting to see how fast these cars go, and who has the power and stamina to forgo the gruelling 20 laps.

October 31, 2009 - Susquehanna Speedway Park

On Saturday, October 31, the Team traveled to Susquehanna Speedway Park. We would like to send a “Thank You” to co-owners, Todd and Rhonda Fisher, for welcoming us to the track.
Shawn was slated to start 11th in the second heat. The weather wasn’t looking good, but the track was very well prepared. Shawn finished 8th in the heat race to qualify for the 20 lap main feature. Just as the cars were being called to help run in the track, a heavy steady rain forced the cancelation of the race until Saturday, November 7.
The Team is currently working with Public Relations Director, LaDonna Coleman, in Tulsa, OK, to figure out where the Team will be racing this weekend.
They had a prior engagement to race in North Carolina on Saturday, November 7. They will be watching the weather forcast for both tracks and will make an announcement by Thursday evening on where they will end up.
Again, the Team would like to say “Thank You” to everyone at Susquehanna Speedway Park, and all the participants that welcomed the Team as well.
